Sometimes, all a mama needs in this world is a place to shower in peace. That, and a sauna, and a hot tub, and a yoga class... You get the idea. That, in combination with their wonderful nursery staff have been a lifeline for this local grandma-lacking mom. They have a wide range of classes for adults, from yoga to cardio kickboxing, in addition to wonderful programs for kids and seniors. All of the classes except children's ballet are included in the monthly membership fee, which can be reduced for those who qualify. They also have an extensive collection of exercise machines and weights. I've been very very happy with the nursery staff. They know my kids very well and really care about them. I've seen them busy but I've never seen a child ignored or not comforted when they are upset. In the extended nursery for older children, they plan a craft project every day and make it more of a preschool setting. The kids really get into it and get attached to the teachers. In regard to illness, my kids were sick very frequently the first year my eldest went to daycare. (somewhere completely different) Most of my friends with preschool-age children have had the same experience with their first year of school. I don't think it's so much the fault of the childcare provider as a normal part of growing up, learning not to put their mouths on everything, and developing immunities to local viruses.
