Mt. Norquay Ski Area to Reopen Historic Teahouse in Banff
Banff (AB), Canada - The staff at Mt. Norquay ski area above the Canadian Rockies resort town of Banff have been hard at work this summer, preparing new activities and facilities for the upcoming ski and snowboard season. This winter will see Mt. Norquay re-open its historic Teahouse, which was originally built in the 1950’s, accessed via a unique chairlift/gondola hybrid and visited by celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe. Whether skiing, snowboarding or simply on foot, all will be able to take the North American chair up top to experience the Teahouse and its stunning surroundings.
Mt. Norquay boasts the only snow tubing facility in the area and this coming season it will be bigger than before with additional lanes and a new Kidz Zone. The facility is easily accesible from Banff for either an afternoon or night tubing session.
“This coming season we are pleased to announce that your Tri-Area Ski Pass will now provide access to to all of Mt. Norquay’s activities, ski and non-ski,” adds Dan Markham, Director of Marketing and Sales at Ski Banff Lake Louise Sunshine. When you purchase a Tri Area Pass, for skiing and snowboarding, valid at Mt. Norquay, The Lake Louise Ski Area and Sunshine Village, it will now also include snow tubing, snowshoeing and sightseeing at Mt. Norquay.
After a day on the slopes or a ride up the North American chair, Mt. Norquay will offer its guests refreshments at the new Coffee and Cappuccino Bar or some tasty food from their new healthy selections menu in the cafeteria and at the Lone Pine Restaurant.
Cutting its first runs in 1926, Mt. Norquay became one of the first ski resorts in North America, and the first in the Canadian Rockies.
