Paper Mill announces actors for 'Newsies'

"Newsies" is inspired by the real life "Newsboy Strike of 1899," when newsboy Kid Blink led the ragged orphans and runaways — known as newsies — on a two-week long action against Joseph Pulitzer, William Randolph Hearst and other powerful newspaper publishers.

As for the cast, Jeremy Jordan, of , will play the main character, Jack Kelly, a newsie who along with other newsies strikes against newspaper publishers Pulitzer and Hearst. Jordan recently starred on Broadway as Tony in the revival of "West Side Story." This winter, Jordan will return to Broadway to star in the new musical "Bonnie and Clyde." During the holiday season, he will play Dolly Parton's grandson in the new film "Joyful Noise."

Several New Jersey residents will star in "Newsies," including John Dossett of South Orange, who will play newspaper tycoon Pulitzer. Dossett has previously performed at the Paper Mill in "Applause" and "Paper Moon." Dossett, a Tony Award nominee, is no stranger to Broadway. On Broadway, he has appeared in "The Constant Wife," "Democracy," "Gypsy" (2003 Tony, Drama Desk nominations), "Dinner at Eight," and "Ragtime." His television and film credits include "Hack;" "Law & Order;" "Sex and the City" and "Gossip Girl" (TV); "That Night;" "Longtime Companion" and "Little Manhattan" (film).

Other state residents starring in "Newsies" are newsie JP Ferreri of Clifton ; Kevin Carolan of Linden, who will play Roosevelt and several other roles; John E. Brady of Rumson, who will play Wiesel; and Nick Sullivan of Weehawken, who will play Bunsen. Brady and Sullivan have previously performed at the Paper Mill Playhouse.

Other "Newsies" stars who once appeared in shows at the paper mill include Kara Lindsay, who will play Katherine, a role created for the stage version of "Newsies." Lindsay returns to the paper mill for another first after playing Laura in "Little House on the Prairie: The Musical." Veldheer Laurie, who plays Hannah has also performed at the paper mill before.

Starring as newsies in the play are Ben Fankhauser as Davey; RJ Fattori and Vincent Agnello sharing the role of Les; Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Crutchie; Tommy Bracco as Spot Conlon; Brendon Stimson as Oscar Delancey; Mike Faist as Morris Delancey; Aaron J. Albano, Ryan Breslin, Kyle Coffman, Max Ehrich (Jack U/S), Garett Hawe, Corey Hummerston, Evan Kasprzak, Andy Richardson, Scott Shedenhelm and Ryan Steele.

Rounding out the cast are Mark Aldrich as Seitz; Helen Anker as Medda; Julie Foldesi as Ms. Baum; Stuart Marland as Snyder; and Michael McArthur and Jack Scott, also as Bunsen.

Fullmetal Alchemist The Movie – The Conqueror of Shamballa ...

Based on the popular animated series, the animated feature film, Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shambala L ', the action picks up pre-war Germany, where Edward Elric, stripped of his powers alchemical, is transported in a parallel world. Although the film is an exciting adventure that includes many of the familiar characters, viewers who haven’t watched the TV series may have trouble sorting out who’s who and what’s where. Sadly, The Conqueror of Shamballa marks the end of director Seiji Mizushima’s and screenwriter Shou Aikawa’s work with the Elric brothers: together, they preserved the essence of Hiromu Arakawa’s winning characters while adapting them to a new medium.
