In 2011, the Kiwanis Club of Saugerties and the Saugerties Fire Department will team up for yet another great Saugerties 4th of July celebration. The 4th of July parade and fireworks will take place on Monday, July 4th.Festivities include: 

Firemen’s inspection (8:30 a.m. on Main Street) Parade (kicks off at 11 a.m. from Saugerties High School) . . . Events at Cantine Field (to be updated as we get closer to the event   Fireworks at Cantine Field, at dusk

The City of Poughkeepsie will host a fireworks display Sunday at Waryas Park on Main Street. A DJ will play music beginning at 2 p.m., and the Ice House will be open for food and drinks. Fireworks begin at 9:20 p.m. Call 454-1700 or visit www.dutchesscountyregionalchamber.org .

Watch the Fireworks from the Walkway!

On Monday, July 4th the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park will close to the public at 5:30 p.m. and then re-open at 6:30 p.m. for those possessing valid wristbands. The fireworks display is expected to begin after 9:00 p.m. If the event is postponed due to inclement weather, it will be re-scheduled for Tuesday, July 5. Tune into Hudson Valley radio stations for weather and event updates. (Please note: There will be no refunds offered to wristband holders.) Bathrooms and vendors will be available on the approaches on either end of the bridge. Due to the nature of the 4th of July event, all ticket holders are asked to adhere to these special event regulations: – No dogs, bicycles, rollerblades or scooters allowed on the Walkway – No coolers, alcohol or smoking permitted – Visitors are advised to car pool and to bring a flashlight

 There will not be shuttle bus service for the July 4th fireworks event, so those with valid wristbands are encouraged to car pool and to park at various City of Poughkeepsie or Town of Highland municipal lots or approved on street parking spaces and allow ample time to get to the Walkway in time for the fireworks. Ticket holders may access the Walkway from either the East or West entrances. Walkway Ambassadors and volunteers will assist visitors at event. We are unable to provide rides for guests, please be prepared to walk at least a half mile for this event.
