Five-Person Relay: $225 through Aug. 31, $250 through Nov. 25.Officials listened to runner feedback and have tweaked several aspects of the race to improve upon last year's first appearance at the historic venue.
"We're going to have a faster start, better parking options at the Expo and an improved bag drop," said race director Marcus Grunewald. "We listened to feedback from last year's participants and have worked to improve the race experience."
Runners will be able to drop off their bags during packet pick-up on Friday, Dec. 2 or Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Expo in addition to race day morning. This should help speed up race day bag drop off.
Marathon officials will continue supporting race beneficiary Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. This year, the marathon has announced a $1 million donation goal, board chairman Phil Baker said.
Participants have the option to set up a fund-raising page to support the hospital. There's also a link to make an online donation on the website.
Other charity groups will participate including: the American Cancer Society's DetermiNation, Back on My Feet, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, Sam's Squad and Team World Vision.
