/ CNW / - Harley-Davidson has begun delivery of all 15 models in the 2012 Touring, Trike (North America only) and the Sportster line to its dealers in the United States and Europe. These bikes will be available for immediate sale, giving customers the opportunity to obtain a 2012-model Harley-Davidson with a lot of the riding season yet available. Sending some models of 2012 was accelerated to provide greater continuity of supply at dealerships during the summer sale. The six 2012 Harley-Davidson Sportster models range from the affordable roadster posture of the Dark Custom Iron 883 ™ performance followed by inspiration of XR1200X ™. Each model Sportster offers the beating of the heart of an authentic American V-Twin engine and pace-setting style and performance.
Back for his first full year of production is the Sportster ® 1200 Custom, the bike that introduced the web H-D1 Bike Builder ™ factory customization process.The help of the generator bicycle, customers can customize their order with the 1200 seat, handlebars, foot pedal, the wheel, safety, painting and finishing options that are installed in the engine right at the factory. Even more dealer-installed accessories can be added and viewed on the site builder bike. The customer can then print a description of their bike and bring it to a Harley-Davidson motorcycle to review with staff trained, select additional accessories to be installed by the dealer to further customize the bike, and then spend a order.Customers can expect to be riding their new bike in as little as four weeks from the time an order is placed with a Harley-Davidson dealer.
All 2012 Sportster models will MICHELIN ® Scorcher ™ tires sculptures designed, tested and style specifically for the Sportster motorcycle to provide perfect grip, even wear and longer life. Fifteen Sportster paint options include seven new color choices for 2012. Side panels will be finished in glossy black or black jeans to match the finish on the body of others. Forty-eight model will have a new tank design.

It was missing in the Performance Machine brakes line-up. No more. PM just announced the addition of their Stage I Brake System for Harley-Davidson trikes. Their engineers have combined their 4-piston caliper with the integrated race technology of their Rear Contour Master Cylinder to create an innovative brake system. “This new 4-piston system provides more clamping force to slow the trike down faster and smoother than stock, while the rear master cylinder provides the extra fluid to the big brakes” says PM President Mark Finnie. Stage 1 Brake system comes complete with pre-made brake lines, two 4-piston calipers and Rear Contour Master Cylinder and is available in chrome, black anodizing or Contrast Cut.
