Minigolf course
HERMON — The Sports Arena in Hermon will cut the ribbon during the grand opening of its new 18-hole minigolf course named “Gordy, the Gopher Mini Golf,” at noon Friday, June 17, on Route 2.
The layout is a challenging course, featuring two water fountains, waterfalls, surround sound music, sand traps and a par of 49. The course was designed with Maine rocks and granite as the focal point for the grounds, and is well-lit for evening play. Hours for minigolf will be noon-11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, and noon-1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
The minigolf course was designed to complement the 20 lanes of bowling, 17 pool tables, 50 arcade games, sports bar and food with Maine offerings such as Gifford’s Ice Cream and Pat’s Pizza.
Officials said they hoped the addition would become a one-stop “Staycation Destination” for family entertainment and events such as birthday parties.
All the Birthday Parties have been updated to include the option of minigolf now in the summer months.
