Reader Offers Thoughts on Business of Energy
Editor,
We have seen media start with newspapers, then radio, then TV and now we have the Internet.
I remember our first black and white TV.
Some very wise people back then saw the dangers of possible mass manipulation and control, should this media form be used for the wrong reasons.
They fought for controls and regulations to protect us from one person controlling too may forms of media. The concern was that if this was allowed , the public could be “brainwashed” by left or right thinking people by controlling any news information to suit their beliefs or agenda.
That was decades ago.
Much of these controls and restrictions have been slowly, quietly stripped away to the point where a handful of “corporations’ control most media, except of course the internet.
And the freedom of that is under attack. The internet is under constant siege for calls for controls that only “big brother” can be trusted to oversee....
The Internet gives anyone access to news, opinions, facts and figures, that were not available before.
People no longer have to hope that what they hear, read or see is indeed unbiased and truthful. We have the internet to get a wide variety of information on any subject.
But it does take time and you have to know where to look.
It is important to understand what the Ontario Liberal Party is all about when it comes to Electricity Production.
It is relevant because the Liberals were voted into office after Harris sold Ontario Hydro to stop this and keep Electricity Production a publicly funded public utility as it was originally intended and should have remained.
This is a statement made by Dwight Duncan,
"It would be irresponsible for the province and tax-payers to continue to subsidize electricity consumption, because it jeopardizes our ability to invest in health care and education. This is simply not sustainable, nor is it acceptable. The people of this province deserve better.

Ways to Deal with Difficult People « The Right Call…
. I am going to posit some tips for dealing specifically with the character traits of difficult people.
Often the key to success when dealing with a difficult person is how much control you have over their behavior . You may have anywhere from total control to zero control. The only 100% control you have is over your own behavior. Here are six common character traits of difficult people. This is by no means a complete and extensive list, but it will get you started!
The first step is to recognize what kind of difficult person you are dealing with in order to determine your best course of action.
The BulliesBullies are angry and hostile. They throw tantrums to get their own way. The want attention. The best thing to do is not back down ! Do not allow the bully to monopolize the attention of the group. Remove them from the situation and you remove their ability to control the situation.
The Gripers Gripers are constantly complaining. If it’s not one thing its another. They rarely take initiative to change anything! A good way to deal with a Griper is to empower them . Empower them to come up with a solution to their problem(s). Ask them “Why can’t we do this or that?”, “Why won’t it work?”, “What can we do to make it work?” The Silent Type You rarely get more than a “Yes” or “No” answer out of the Silent Type. Like with the Gripers, the best thing to do is empower them . Start by taking away their Yes/No crutch! Let them know you are listening and get them involved in the group dynamic. Ask for their opinion, make them expand their answers and do not accept “Yes” or “No” as their final say. The “Just Say No” Types will answer every new idea with a “That won’t work”, or “We’ve tried it before.” A good way to deal with Just Say No-ers is to ask why . Just Say No Type’s can only see obstacles. Where some see opportunity, this group sees a road block. But if you ask them about the obstacles they see, you may be able to offer assistance in overcoming those barriers. The Know-It-Alls know everything! They are condescending and full of themselves.
